Every year EE sponsor the BAFTA Awards. While working at Poke, I was briefed to come up with a way of using technology to drive earned and social buzz for the brand and give fans the chance to experience the glitz and glamour of the red carpet.
My idea was a selfie-taking robot that gave fans at home their very own selfie with a Hollywood star.
We launched with BAFTA hosts Stephen Fry and Laura Whitmore who encouraged fans to send in their selfies. Then on the night a screen on the robot’s face cycled through hundreds of fan photos in rapid succession while a camera on burst mode captured individual selfies to be sent to that person in real time.
