I was briefed by Baby Cow Productions and The BBC to help promote the release of the new Alan Partridge movie, Alpha Papa. As a lifelong Partridge fan, this was the most exciting moment of my professional life!
My idea was an app that made it feel like you were listening to an Alan Partridge radio show for real.
The app took audio clips of Alan broadcasting on his radio show and played them interspersed with songs from the listeners own music library. This created the impression you were listening to a real live Partridge radio show.
It sounded like this
The app was a massive hit with fans selling 200,000 copies going to #1 in the Apple App Store. It trended on Twitter, got amazing press coverage and was even featured on the Jimmy Fallon Show in the US.
